Village Rising Foundation (VRF) is a community-first organization dedicated to rebuilding infrastructure through sports, education, and partnerships—ensuring recovery is lasting, inclusive, and resilient.
VRF was founded in 2018 in response to the Woolsey Fire, which caused widespread displacement and loss across Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Malibu, and surrounding communities.
Within three weeks, VRF raised over $300,000 and provided direct financial assistance to more than 70 displaced residents.
In the years that followed, the Foundation continued targeted disaster relief efforts, including support for communities impacted by the Getty Fire.
In 2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic, VRF paused active grantmaking operations.
Following the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025, VRF resumed operations to address urgent recovery needs, with a focus on rebuilding schools, parks, and community centers in the hardest-hit areas.
